The 2016 Pompey Historical Society 40th Year Anniversary - New Display

This year marks the 150th anniversary of the G.A.R., the Grand Army of the Republic.  After the Civil War, the veterans returned home, and many joined a local G.A.R. Post.  In this area, the two big Posts were the Lilly and the Root.  Among the items on display is a Lilly Post Bible, donated to the PHS by Jerry Orton,  and several items belonging to Root Post member Dwight Byron Hotaling.  The exhibit also features items collected during our Nation's  and Town's Bicentennial Celebration in 1976 in celebration of this 40th Anniversary.

Below is a slideshow representing work now on display at the Pompey Town Hall Open Monday through Thursday 9:00 - 5:00 pm.

The Museum is open Tuesdays, 11:00 am - 3:00 pm or by appointment for guests to view the Museum exhibits or Research Geneology.
