 Time Pieces -
Russ Oechsle will talk about the Cazenovia School of Tower Clock Makers, started by Jehiel Clark of Pompey.  Russ will happily talk with you about any clock you bring for assessment.

Schoolhouse Presentations by Susan Fineman - Program(s) Saturday, July 23, 2016  10:00 AM and 2:00 PM   
Lessons in the 19th Century Schoolhouse” will be the early program on the PHS campus in our restored 1857 schoolhouse.  A sample lesson of ~30 – 45 minutes will be presented to interested on-lookers and participating children.  We are looking for interested 4th or 5th graders to participate.  Please call 315-682-4729 to reserve a seat for your student.

“Renovating One-Room Schoolhouses – What’s In It For Us” will be the afternoon program at the Oran Community Church on Rte. 92 just west of Oran-Delphi Rd.  Susan will discuss the history of preservation, why people engage in preservation projects, and the current uses of schoolhouses as living history museums.  Tours of both the Oran Schoolhouse (1830’s) and the Oran Community Church (1850’s) are available after Susan’s presentation.

 Pompey Waterfalls Tour

View the rushing waters down Brickyard Falls, Pratts Falls, and Delphi Falls.   Wear sturdy shoes and layered clothing!  Tour bus leaves the Pompey Town Hall parking lot promptly at 10:00 AM.  Seating is limited so save your place early by calling the PHS with your reservation.   PHS members have priority for reservations.

June 10, 2016, Friday, 5:30 to Dark
    Holy Smoke will provide dinner options for purchase, and Butternut
Creek Revival will provide musical entertainment. 
And Yes!  Our yummy strawberry shortcake will be available for purchase.

In addition, this year we are featuring the Classic Pompey artisans exhibit in the Museum building.
And our refurbished 1857 One Room Schoolhouse will be open for viewing as well.
Event held RAIN OR SHINE at our campus (the Heritage Center is a large open covered building).

This project is made possible with funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and administered by CNY Arts.

Delphi Falls Community Day and Corn Festival
Saturday, August 27, 2016 in Delphi Falls.
Celebrate the bounty of summer with a chicken barbeque, roasted corn on the cob, a craft fair, lawn tractor parade and more including crafts associated with corn, like making a corn-husk doll! (flyer)

  Pompey Artisans Fair on Saturday, September 24, 2016
hosted by the Town of Pompey Historical Society (PHS). As part of the PHS 40th Anniversary Year, we have celebrated the work of our many local artisans in our "Classical Pompey" art exhibit at the Museum.   We continue the celebration with a day of art demonstration and exhibition. There will be opportunities for purchase just in time to begin your holiday shopping!
Join us from 10:00 AM through 5:00 PM at the PHS Museum Campus, 8347 US Rt 20, at the corner of US Rt 20 and Pompey Center Road. 

      The event runs at our Museum at 8347 US Rte. 20.  The Cazenovia Art Trail is a self-guided tour of artists' studios which is a unique opportunity for the public to meet artists in their working environments.
      The PHS is on the Art Trail as a point of interest with our exhibit "Classic Pompey" which is a collection of work by local artisans.
      The event is free and open to the public.  For more information and to see a map of participating artists go to or visit our website and see a link on our home page as well as the Links page.

 On Sunday, October 23, 2016 at 2:00 pm
we will have our
Annual Meeting at the Pompey Town Hall.  Tickets for our annual raffle are still available starting at 1:30 pm (see link on home page for details).   You
do not need to attend the meeting or be present to win.

Election Day Bake Sale
on Tuesday, November 8, 2016.
at Pompey Town Hall.
This is a major fundraiser for us especially
in a major election year.  Contributions and volunteers to sit at the tables are welcomed.
